This is just something that I do when I'm not going to be recording anything (looks tacky squashed up in videos), which is playing with a wider field of view.
Without moving your head, you can see almost 180° in front of yourself. From most screenshots I see, most people run the game in a 4:3 resolution, which gives a very cramped feeling. It's not just a case of changing resolution either.
Those 2 screenshots are taken at different resolutions with the second almost twice the resolution of the first, but you can still only see the same amount in-game. Your field of view depends on the ratio of width/height. By increasing this ratio, you can get a much more natural view.
By default in the Metin2 settings thing you should have some standard options like 1024x768 (4:3), 800x600 (4:3), 1280x720 (16:9), 1280x800 (16:10) etc. If you want to go really wide, you have to edit the config file manually, which is easy. It's in the directory where you installed Metin2, and it's named metin2.cfg. The first 2 lines are the game's resolution.
The important thing to remember is that Metin2 cannot run with a vertical height of less than 600. A safe thing is to use the max width of your display (minus a few px for window edges etc) for the width with 600 as the height.
The above shows just how much extra you can see this way. It makes it much easier to farm metins (harder to miss them), and better for PVP too, since you can see enemies/allies coming sooner

Also if you're going to be using non standard resolutions, it's best to run the game in windowed mode.
