Ok so I'm bored right now and the Metin "project" I was working on is temporarily being put aside. I was given permission to make tutorials about modifying the Metin2 client...
Nice nice, the icon database was actually shown to me by my friend Cody a week ago..it was very helpful for when I was working on my server
Are we allowed to post modding tuts or only in-game tuts ? I mean modding as in things that aren't giving the player an unfair advantage ofc.
Since at least one legitimate server allows this (
Metin2 SG) I guess so
I will make a video or image/text tut based on any requests here, but nothing that gives any unfair advantages to game-play. If you have a request because you are curious or because you really want something, make it here. Only requests for client editing will be accepted, for anything having to do with servers just hit me up cuz I can't put that stuff on this forum Skill Color Design: Never made any but know how, most skill designs in my opinion are ugly as hell, I'll try if someone really wants me to.
UI Cplor Design: Same as Skills

.
Item Design: Also the same..
Changing the displayed level or appearance of the mobs in-game: Not possible.
Changing the displayed attributes of the items in-game: Possible but I don't see the point

.
These are NOT possible, do not believe anything that claims them to be the following and don't ask for them, because I will not / cannot create them:Gold Hack
Trade Hack
GM Hack
Upgrade Success Hack
Item Creator
Level Changer
XP/Gold/Item Drop ChangerBasically you can change any text or graphical things that exist in the client and have a few things like displaying the success rate ofc...very popular thing to do. I see no unfairness in adding the success rate notifier because it doesn't change any aspect of the success. To be able to see it is just like having a notice of the % success. Maybe you want to see coordinates wherever you go in Metin2, underneath the mini-map? Nothing unfair about that, the coordinates are already displayed when pointing at your square on the mini-map. To have them displayed under the mini-map is just a convenience. There is a client for metin by NeonBlue who I should be able to take his password saver from, and apply it to any Metin client. What it does is save the password in an ini file so when you start the game, your login ID and password is automatically entered and it logs you in. This does NOT store or send the information anywhere else.
After you modify your client the way you like it, you can even have multiple servers listed in it, so you can use the same client on every server you enjoy.
You can view some other videos here on my
YouTube channel. If you have any suggestions how to make the videos more clear I welcome those too. I am using FRAPS for in-game stuff usually at 25FPS/Full. I edit with Cyberlink PowerDirector (Yes I know its shitty but I am too lazy to figure out Sony's and Adobe's editors

). I just select YouTube upload and HD and allow the program to convert and upload the videos for me

. I may in the future experiment with different resolutions and codecs and mess around a little with VirtualDub, which I've used before but don't know too much about.
If you happen to get banned or anything bad happens to you because you did not correctly follow the guide or for any reason something happens, I am not responsible. Follow these guides and do the things in them at your own risk. Your PC and account is your own responsibility. If you get banned because of something in a tut I make, tough shit.
