[Metin2.Us] Dagger Assassin Guide
« on: July 29, 2010, 11:18:46 AM »
Introduction:
This guide was written by me around 1 and a half years ago, I have always wanted to rewrite it, and this is a good opportunity to do so.

In my opinion, this class is the most enjoyable to play. We are very well balanced to PvP(Player Vs Player) and PvM(Player Vs Monster), although the other fast melee class (The Arahan), have an advantage over us in their high speed and extreme damage with buff skills. We don't have buff skills, and rightly so, we don't need them!

Stats:

I think this is the key most important part in explaining where we get our power from. Let me try explain it in a simple way:

CON(VIT): This will give us more hp and ac.
INT: We have no use for this.
STR: This is very much an underestimated stat point by most, you may not believe this but this is where we get most of our strength from in our first 3 skills, Getaway, Rapid Charge and Ghost Attack. This will also add a slight amount of damage to poison nova due to the attack power in crease.
DEX: This is a kind of magic attack increase and also a slight ap increase. While slightly increasing the damage of Getaway, Rapid Charge and Ghost Attack from the base ap increase. The biggest difference you will notice when increasing this stat point is the damage increased in Poison Nova, this skill thrives the more dex you have. Basically having 12 dex in your daggers and 10 demi will effect the poison nova skill in almost the same way. One last effect of dex is that after every 3 points you add, you will get 1 DR point in your character screen. This is 1 Damage Reduced, I do not believe it is a % of damage reduced but it certainly makes a huge difference in PvM and some in PvP.

So how should you stat your dagger sin?
I suggest making 40 con first to add a little hp and ac. After that, go for full dex and full str in order to make enough damage on mobs and in PvP.

Skills:

This is my personal preference on skills, I think it is the right way to go.

First Master: Getaway(Rolling Dagger), I think this is possibly our most useful skill, it may not have the highest damage, but it is certainly very appealing to be able to hit on average 3 times with the rolling combo if timed correctly and also the Poison Chance much to the annoyance of our opponents. Do you find yourself in sticky situations in between mobs going to die and need to get out? This skill will save you.

Second Master: Ghost attack, deals high ammount of damage when combined with stealth for PvP, you will generally want to sneak up on your opponent from behind, as this deals more damage from behind.

Third Master: Rapid Charge(Fast Attack), deals good damage as well, some people could choose to master this before Ghost attack if they would like to buy cheaper Skill Books, this is actually quite a fun skill to use. Do you ever find yourself stuck in the wall with your opponent taunting you? Why don't you surprise them and dash right to them using this skill.

Fourth Master: Always go for Poison Nova(Poisonous Cloud). It is your secret weapon in PvP, If you find someone with a high amount of dagger resist..lets say 60%, your ghost attack is doing 3k damage, your poison nova will still deal the full damage as this is a magic skill! I rather leave stealth last as this is a skill that is often rendered useless if opponents run from you when in stealth.

Fifth Master: Lastly stealth, good when combined with ghost attack if an opponent is unaware of you being around, sneak from behind them and always hit ghost attack. One useful feature besides the damage increase, you can easily change gear if you go stealth in war.

How to level and equip your character:

At your low levels up from 21-50, you will spend most of your time luring for others, I can try advise just one thing, you may want to try a few of those levels from 42 up alone killing black orcs for teeth to finish your lins quest. 10 movement speed is your friend as a low level, if you have no problem with orc teeth, I suggest going to the esoterics outside the temple, make your levels there, and you will surely have enough curse books dropped to finish your level 40 lins quest aswell. From level 50 up, it is advised to try go to v1 or v2, in v2, even one mob at a time is enough to make a level a day.

For equipment, the best I can advise is try to be lucky with bestials, perhaps drop a nice fms to use for leveling or if you can gather enough gold, a bld will do.

Now I think I should explain what stats are useful to level up. In my set I use:
13% Faint
46% Criticals
HP ofcourse..
23 Block
8 Flee Archery
20% Damage Absorbed To Hp
8% Attack Speed Boots

And those stats are really what you are going to need, since you will be a low level and if you are just starting out, and don't have much money to spend, I suggest going for faint target items, this can be obtained in your boots/daggers/necklace. This is the cheapest yet most effective stat that you can get as a low level, after all, mobs can't hurt you if they can't move!

Advice for types of daggers to use to level from level 75 onwards. Personally, I will always and forever use Devil Wing Chakrams for levelling, they have the highest attack power of any dagger in game, a very fast attack speed at +9 (26%) and the chance to get a high % damage for PvM. Siamese can do you fine, but in my opinion are slow and extremely low powered.

I want to remind the reader of one more thing, stats will always be the moire important factor in a good item. You can have all +9 and get owned by someone with a bunch of +6 items..stats are key in any situation.

A simple advice for PvP:

Always focus on your resist first, this is the most important part in PvP, how do you expect to kill someone if you can't survive a round of skills from them? Get your resist set up first then focus on your basic vs on weapon, helmet and other items, once all done, start focusing on the godly stuff :).

Thanks for reading

I prefer Siamese over DWC because the normal hits and skill hits are good and on the DWC you get one or the other

I have to disagree..as a dagger sin or take my archer for example, I don't need skills to farm or lvl. The damage of swings on my sins are huge so I don't need skills as it slows me down, siamese are underpowered and slow.

He explained basicly everything. I would disagree on few things.

First about stats. I would go 2vit:1dex until vit is like 40 (as u said), then switch to 2dex:1str, until dex is full, then go totally for str. Getting few HP items, will cover the hp loose, if u feel like u need more hp, add some point in vit, u can always change stats with blood pills or item mall scroll. Why not put all points in vit? Cause u will hit dam low. The best defence is attack :).

As for a weapon, i wouldnt bother creating FMS, when u can just get good bld and hit metins on feet. U can do skills like that and mobs die way faster then throwing around them with sword on horse. That few extra str horse gives, can be covered by fact that daggers are faster.

As for order in skill mastering, i always prefer ghost, spinning, fatal strike, nova, stealth. Why ghost first? Cause it deals the most damage. Even if spinning can hit target much times, its not so usefull on mass of mobs, since u cant hit all of them in same time. Add a 1 point in spin, to use it to get out of mass, as he already pointed out. If u can get a little poison bonus on item, its fantastic.

To all rest i totally agree, and yes, siamese knifes are worst weapon ever, its slow, its hits low and its ugly :D

i mostly agree with everything but i would master poison nova as fast as possible, because you want to get that skill to perfect as soon as possible. but that's just me as long as you master stealth on 5 th skill it doesn't really matter in what order you upgrade your skills apart from ambush needs to be at least in the 3 first m's.
Don't it make you sad to know that life, is more than who we are?

If im not wrong you forgot to add on Rapid Charge/Stealth that Stealth gives an passive attack boost to Rapid Charge which means your damage of rapid charge gets increased by stealth even if you dont use stealh before casting RC.
