Metin2 SG has always taken a lighter approach to account trading or selling, historically having the view that players may engage in such practices, but the staff are not responsible for anything that goes wrong.
This is contrast to the other English publishers -
G4BOX has always taken a hard stance against account buying & selling, with threats of bans for accounts they deem to have been bought.
Gameforge used to offer an option for players to
gift their account with the help of staff, though later
abolished the practice.
Now
Metin2 SG has taken this a step further, offering official, staff moderated support. A player interested in selling or trading their account can approach a Metin2 SG staff member and handle the process through a new
SG Trading board. As a deterrent to malicious activity, a 10,000 TP charge is required, and the staff mediate the trade once payment has been confirmed.
This method is not exactly what
SG announced back in July last year, but is a good first step.
While it may be obvious, we should also note now that those who would previously use
our trading / selling board for
Metin2 SG-only deals should now use the official Metin2 SG trading board instead, due to the added safety.
