As for the rest: You guys want proof of CCU of SG over 1.5k from Chris? Why should he make a reply to you guys about that when you take all the words from US GM's as being true without any valid proofs like they do for every fishy case? No no, a more serious question to people like you should be: Why are you so concerned about SG player count and how many real players play when you DON'T EVEN PLAY IT!?

I swear to God, it's pissing me off seeing ALMOST EVERY-SINGLE discussion this thread turning into flame war between people that have nothing to do but ask for SG player count vs people who defend SG.
Please, I didn't think this thread was worth even creating but I haven't seen anything meaningful for the last 100 times I checked Liquiron (except for the new expansion pack thread which again turned into flame shit)

This forum supposed to be a place where Metin players can share something meaningful like videos they made, achievements they did, equips they got, secrets they know, strategies they can share etc., etc., when was the last time that this happened???-_-

It wasn't my data at all, I only arranged it (created graphs with it). The Data came directly from SG's own servers.

An example that should explain: I run an internet radio server. If you connect to it and start listening to the music (similar to logging into and playing metin2) you won't ever receive information on the current listener (player) count. But since you know that it is a shoutcast server, and if you know how shoutcast works, you know that it has a feature to view that information. If you access it over HTTP on port 8000, you will see a collection of information from the server, including the current listener count.

A similar feature is built into all Metin2 servers. Z8Games and Gameforge disabled this (otherwise you would see graphs for those servers too), SG didn't. So if you wanted to see how many players were online, you could at any time just by asking the server itself over telnet. Some time ago they finally disabled this feature, so it's not possible to see the CCU any more.

As for the forum things, it is a double edged blade. The original principle was a place where you would not be censored. People aren't censored when posting criticism or other things that would be deleted from official publisher forums, but some users also take it as a free ticket to flame a lot.

The main purpose of the site is the news & other features (i.e. not stuff in /forum/), which is reflected in the traffic

I can only speak for myself here.

I ask for proof of the CCU because I don't believe that SG has that many players. Charlie started playing a little over a month ago.  In all the time he's played I've never seen over 25 shops on ch1.  He's never been ks'ed, never even run into but 2 other players that I can remember. I just can not fathom how with 1,500 players online on the weekends, and what was it.. 900 (?) during the week he can spend all that time without running into a single player.  Or rather only running into two.

So I suppose, yes, I am saying I believe Christopher is lying. Everyone lies, I'm not judging him because of it. I am simply disappointed. When SG began we all heard what a great server it was going to be.  How different it was going to be. And now, after all this time, it is struggling.   And I feel like he's falling into the same things he disparaged in the US server.  Telling things that aren't true to try and pull players to his server.  If he continued to advertise the many quests his server has, the events, the customer service. Then I would not ask for it. But he's decided to start answering the people who say that SG is a desert with "SG has x CCU now".  So I ask for proof, because I don't believe it.  I also think he'd have been better off to admit to the IP block right off rather than treat his players like idiots and continue denying it. I think this hurt his business WAY more than the IP block itself. Gamers are resourceful, as can be evidenced by the number of players who do use a proxy to get around the IP block.   But when they all start saying there is an IP block and you continually deny it and then one day admit it.  Well you make yourself look like a fool and damage the trust your players would have had in you. 

Also I read somewhere that many MMO's make their CCU public and Metin2 is one of the few servers where they don't.  As for allowing access to the admin panel.. Why?  Why would you need to do that to allow everyone to see your CCU?  I admit I am not technically savvy enough to know these things. But then again, neither is he when he answers me.  (See Roph's post above mine)

Who is actually crying from the players who PLYING NOW in .sg? Only who is complaining a bit is inso, cuz he yellow and that kingdom fked up badly, lots of high levels and none low lv, high lv nabs open shops in blue and make there kingdoms suffer but ehh it there choise.

On the thread about gold sellers, even though Chris claimed to have hidden the buyer identity well, paypal dispute page reveals that the buy attempt was done with a paypal account registered to TEC and as such the identity was known to gold seller site since the transaction happened.
This, i believe was the reason why Tec was stalled and asked to throw in some random id identification like a picture of a passport - i doubt such things get asked from all of the costumers.
Considering this, the story of no gold available, to my eyes, may have not been true.

Some time ago they finally disabled this feature, so it's not possible to see the CCU any more.

100kk in cash,and still have around 30 soul stones(selling 1kk each),40 exp rings(if blues win in nation warr i will sell em for 2kk each,atm selling for 1.8 - 1.8 or if we(yellows) win i will use em to get 80) bless scrolls i use(but still selling around 20,each 1.6kk),dont count npc items(like electro partisan heaven fan and blabla) and sbs and bands(My book char have 25kk now)
Also got 150% from metins,i was 75 with 0% now im 76 with 98%. that 48% i got while i exp friend in v2(2k play time and shes 70 lvl)

So .sg for me is less than year server and count of players is perfect, idc anw if we got 1000 ppl like gf but those ppl to stay and become 80+ lv to fight, so if yellows + reds in .sg had just 10 more 80+ lvls each of them to duel is perfect I no need more

There's always a crapload of players that never vote, no matter the server. You are able to get it when this is being said about SG, but when US is mentioned, u seem to have temporary blindness issues.

Even in yellows we need to w8 on 6 floor atleast 10 min + teleprots b4 6 floor(and yellows are "Dead nation")... and DuffMaN doing great job.

The fact that you posted this to a guy who had claimed us to have near million players or something, has got nothing to do with anything here.

Its obvious that you havent done any non-caring/non-voting estimation at all, for the simple reason of this not being anything that anyone can do. If you have, please do show me how you got from 1111 votes to 350-450 active players and how much of non-voting players you used in this calculation - this is what i asked from you, not to bold out some lines that you added up to try to make it look like your post has more sense.

Stront was most active back when Casca was a king, who was another one of failures as a king (except for helping his own guild). i bet Casca made it look easy for him.

Christopher did a big mistake by not telling his players there was going to be IP block if he KNEW about it from the beginning because the server had 2-3k REAL players playing just the FIRST 2 DAYS ( i remember seeing both channels full )!

Many people also say that GF+ G4 enforced the IP block on YMIR cuz it wasn't there at beginning. I am not gonna lie, this is what I also think personally also because GF+G4 didn't wanna lose their customers who were tired of their server. Before SG opened it was known as the "SEA" server...It was described as dream server for many and the word "SEA" was passed between alot of people so naturally it had alot of people at beginning. Also, character wipe after closed beta reduced the player count significantly because the team told at those times there wouldn't be a character wipe.

SO the point is: 95% of the people lost trust in the server from beginning (including me) because they couldn't openly tell people to SAFELY CONTINUE to play their server with a proxy which was always legal but unfortunately YMIR made sure the word didn't come out, so TEC was basically not allowed to tell players from outside to Asia "ITS SAFE TO PLAY" and thus many people quit. After all, who would wanna spend time on a server where its not safe to play right?


Then seeing SG was no longer a threat to their competition. TEC was finally able to let know people that you can play with proxy WITHOUT GETTING BANNED cuz its legal. That is why I came back to SEA 2 months after closed beta. Anyway SEA or SG is truly the best I have ever played. Believe me, other servers don't treat you with respect for the money and time you spent meanwhile TEC has a completely different attitude towards their players otherwise I would be still playing on US.


Lastly,
I hope TEC eventually gains the players count that they lost at the beginning or even more.
Most importantly, I hope ALL the official servers unite and stop trying to steal players from each other but rather enforce YMIR on making more updates and getting rid of P servers that would otherwise steal any new content they would create
 (for example, character customization would be fantastic which you can change your skin, your eye color etc., etc.,..everyone looks the same on Metin-.-)



And also very important factor: Metin is an old game. I honestly wish Christopher opened his server earlier.

Not really. They improved the connections ALOT. Very few actually have connection issues but we have a high ping naturally cuz server is too far away from Europe + America (mine is 250) ...and since this is not a FPS game, anything below 350 works normal. My ping for US from Hungary is 180...as you can see SG is not that bad.
Connections like 1.5yrs ago was SHIT and yeah you can say that was another reason why some people could have quit at those times

P-servers are not for lazy people, when i tried the first p-server,i tried just to test the higher lvl weapons/armours,i just wanted to see how they are,later then i joined the biggest romanian p-server and spent some money...(shame on me).
Now i wanna start playing on retail again,but i don't what to choose,because i still want something fast paced,because 1.5 years i played only as sura bm and didn't lvl too much.

SG is "fast" server,coz exp bonuses at weekend(nation - siege warr),u can use 2 exp ring in same time(50% ingame and 20% mall ring),items from mall are tradeable,but if ur friends dont play there,u will feel lonely coz SG is not populated like P servers or US/UK


EDIT: My friend got 70 lvl in 2 days(2k play time),without package(just exp rings ingame and 25% exp weekend bonus - yellows were 2nd)

Your right insomniac , SG is the best server for me because 3 of my brothers were playing from beginning with me and they quit. But now they came back and the game has become much more fun than before. Honestly, I can't wait til 3 of us fights in NW together the week after this :DD

Romania on sg has 0.3/0.8 ms lag. I have quite a good internet connection.

well it sounds silly but playing fps games for more than 10 years,at the end you will gonna feel the slightest change in your latency. And 0,3/0,6 ms it's a huuuuuuge delay for fps players,i mean huuuge ! seriously,a good player 0.3ms,and elite sk gaming xD style 0,2 ms,beast mode. To test the delay, go to dogs and kill them,the time that the damage needs to appear on your screen is latency,how do i know? the romanian server is 0,1 no latency at all,so it's gonna be easy for you to spot the difference on sg from ro.

P servers are crap actually. I never said they weren't fun, you CAN have loads of fun in P servers but that usually lasts around 2-3 weeks max then you wanna move on. I know this from experience cuz first time I tried some good P servers I couldn't stop playing cuz I was pwning so much noobs but it got boring pretty fast after some "MALLERS" came and destroyed me. Hahahah douche bags with their item mall on P servers
Anyway, officials are better in the long term and your efforts mean something there so that's why I play Official servers.

over 9000 msgs in 2 days
So ye its posibile to find friends on P server,and chat with em,even if u dont play together anymore
