This is just if any other user would like their name changed here, to explain how it works:

There are 2 ways to change your name on an SMF forum, either your display name or your user name. For a normal account, your user name and display name are both the same thing. So you could login as username and your display name (what people see you as) would also be username.

Let's say for example, your user name is username wanted to change your name to newuser.

If your display name is changed, you appear everywhere as newuser but you would still login as username, and nobody else can take that.

The other way is to have your actual user name changed (which will also change your display name in the process). In this way you give up your username user name (so somebody else could take it), and you would login as newuser. Important: if you take this option, the forum will reset your password and email you, since password encryption is tied to the user name. So your email address in your profile must be valid or you would lose access to your account.

If you want either your user name or display name changed, either post here, or message me or Dweia :). Posting here is the best option, since then other users can see your request, and they won't be confused over who the new person is ;)
