Experimenting with postbits
« on: January 30, 2011, 11:53:57 PM »
The "postbit" is just the area to the left of a post that contains the various parts of information about a member, like their name, avatar, postcount and stuff. By default (at least with SMF) it just kinda floats over there, pretty messy.

What do you guys think of this?

Much more compact and still has all the info. It actually shows more info :D

If you want to try them out for yourself, go to the pick theme area in your profile and choose the Liquiron Theme (Development, use the other one!) theme :P

They don't look right on chrome at the moment ._.

Fixed up:

No guild flag means the question one is shown, like on a sig

A set guild flag that refers to a flag that doesn't exist gets replaced too

Long usernames now line break properly

Fixed display on internet explorer and chrome/safari

:D might apply this to the main theme sometime soon. I can't find any more bugs with it.

you should make it so when they have no avatar it doesn't have the empty space where an avatar normally would be.

ie: http://liquiron.com/forum/index.php/topic,1139.msg12144.html#msg12144

I thought about just using a css box-shadow on whatever avatar they have, but the browser support isn't nice enough yet. It's actually easier to just not show the container if they don't have an avatar, but I prefer to leave it there anyway.

I've been doing something similar on another site of mine for years and I've found that it both entices users to set an avatar, and also to use the correct size.

I get to cheat and go over the limits because I'm special like that.

okay.. and what's with SMF loading without a theme on first start of browser? Works fine after a refresh but for the first load it just loads text and links... without format or style.

Did you know?Did you know: That you cannot pass under and over the same point (example: a bridge you can go over but also walk under) anywhere in Metin2?
