It seems like all the Metin2 servers are putting in effort to make a fun summer for players. Now it's the turn of
Metin2 US.
The Clown Event
This was actually a player-made event originally. It's something that we were aware of back when it was running, but never covered due to poor/insufficient information regarding it.
Each Nation will vote in one player to represent their nation as the official "Clown". The clown stay in their town, outside the safe zone areas.
The objective of the Clown Event is to see which Nation kills the other Nations' clown first, without letting their own clown die - All participating players must invade the other Nation while defending their own at same time. The winner is the Nation with last surviving Clown.
For Free Kingdom:
Application thread will be opened on: 4th
Application thread will be closed on: 11th
The clown vote thread will be opened on: 11th
The clown vote thread will be closed on: 16th
The clown event will be held on: 18th
For New World:
Application thread will be closed on: 4th
The clown vote thread will be opened on: 4th
The clown vote thread will be closed on: 9th
The clown event will be held on: 11th
Each nation's clown stays in a different channel.
For Free Kingdom:
Milgaard: Ch 12
Listhmos: Ch 13
Dendera: Ch 14
For New World:
Milgaard: Ch 22
Listhmos: Ch 23
Dendera: Ch 24
In both servers, the event will take place at (12am EST).
As a reward, the winning kingdom gets a choice of 50% extra bonus EXP, or 50% extra drop rate. As an "increased" drop rate is incorrect (drop rate actually suffers quite severely), the winner would be wise to choose the EXP option.
Player’s Choice Event
In what could be labeled as laziness, the
Metin2 US staff are turning to their players to make up another event for them. Players can be quite broad with their imagination for these events, though must keep them reasonable. If you have an idea for an event you'd like to submit, or would like to browse the already submitted ideas, head on over to the Idea submission thread.
Create A Signature Event
This event seems to be somewhat of a paradox, as the Z8Games forums do not allow users to have images in their signatures, even though it is possibly one of the most basic features that a forum can offer. Nevertheless, though they will not be able to use them, players are encouraged to create their own special image signatures.
As you can see, the canvas that players have to work with is relatively small. The time line for this event is as follows:
August 9th: Contest Opens
August 20th: Contest Closes. Winners will chosen by the GMs.
August 27th: Winner Announced / Prizes handed out.
The Prizes:
1st Place 30,000,000 Gold
2nd Place 20,000,000 Gold
3rd Place 10,000,000 Gold
We have a sneaking suspicion that as a prize, many users would simply like to be able to actually use their image signatures.
And that's it!
The descriptions above are somewhat simplified; you can read the full official announcement on the Z8Games forum.
