Metin2 US Restructures in-game [MOD] system

Posted: April 12, 2010, 05:55:08 PM by Dweia

Z8Games has decided to alter the way it selects and retains in-game moderators for its Metin2 USMetin2 US servers.

This is perhaps in lieu of the recent behavior of some in-game [MOD]s, and not forgetting the recent embarrassing incident where an in-game [MOD] fell for a scam within days of receiving the position.

Previously, in-game [MOD] applications where sporadic at best. They took place usually only when an older [MOD] left the team. Now Z8Games plans to have elections every 2 months, starting on May 1st 2010.

Additionally, in-game [MOD]s will only hold the position for a maximum of 4 months before reverting back to regular players. This doesn't mean that they cannot be [MOD]s again, though a 2-month period must pass before they can be reconsidered.

The time after which a newly appointed in-game [MOD] can mute players has now also been changed (reduced?) to 1 month.

The opinions of the current [MOD]s to this new system range from indifferent, to disappointed, to angry.

The way that forum moderators are chosen / retained is not affected by this new system, it only applies to in-game [MOD]s.
