Metin2 US' teased "BIG Update" actually arrives on time, with the introduction of a Fire Phoenix pet, young reindeer companion, 6 ridable reindeer mounts, a quest, special potion, and gift boxes.


Ice Phoenix


The Ice Phoenix is essentially the Fire Phoenix first seen on Gameforge servers, with its textures altered from from red & orange to purple & blue. Like its original counterpart, it lacks the ability to hold extra items for the player and is just for show. In a surprising twist for Z8Games, this Ice Phoenix has a very long duration - 120 days. The ice phoenix is summoned via its own Seal, which is only available from Mystical Chests.


Mystical Chests
This wouldn't be a Z8games update without additions to the item shop, and today sees the availability of Mystical Chests. Available only from the item shop, the chest can contain the following items:



Reindeer / Eggnog Quest
Santa will appear in each nation's town during the quest period, and offers the options seen above when spoken to. The baby reindeer is not ridable, but accompanies the player. As the player kills monsters with the baby reindeer at their side, they have a chance to drop Holiday Socks. These socks can either be traded in to Santa in exchange for EXP, or used at the Giant tree in the center of Tangra Mountain.


Players can also get Eggnog from Santa, which we assume is like the "mulled wine" offering in Gameforge's version of this event, acts as a special potion lasting 30 minutes and offers 10% movement speed bonus, 5% damage, and 10% experience bonus.


Reindeer Mounts

To start with these reindeer mounts, players must again head to the item shop. There they can choose to buy either a "mommy" or "daddy" reindeer seal. These mounts can then be upgraded via either Books Of Revelution or Books Of Refinement. Talk to the stable boy for more information on how to upgrade these mounts.


These books are dropped by monsters in Sand Wasteland / Giant's land, most likely the giants seen above. By using these books with the stable boy, players can upgrade their reindeer mount from Beginner to Intermediate and finally to Advanced. Mounted skills are only possible on the Intermediate / Advanced mounts.


Ring Of Happiness

The Ring Of Happiness functions similarly to the Ring Of Eternal Fire, offering the following bonuses:



Christmas Gift Box

Finally comes the gift box. This item is yet another item shop only item, but it can be used 10 times, each time giving a new item. It has a 30 minute cooldown before it can be opened again.

Btw Dragon map is coming in few weeks xD We got the confirmation that we will be in the Beta test server (The group who killed DC boss during the event) wuhooo we are getting everything now xD

Umm not all things on official servers came from official servers originally. Some things came from private servers. Anyone who knows anyone / been around a while knows this.

Also All servers ARE losing players, including SG which had a super low count and is even lower now. US has lost players for a long time, probably mainly because of the shittyness of their so-called "team". Not that chris is such a great guy.. but overall Z8 takes the award for being the worst publishers / GMs ever.

Private servers in general seem to be losing population too when compared to the previous years, I think people are finally getting bored of the game and the poorer countries may be advancing (finally) to the point where they aren't forced to play games with early 2000's requirements on their systems..
