The time has finally arrived! Metin2 UK is the first server to receive the updates, keeping with the server's recent reputation of being the first for new additions, such as the hackshield and 2nd floor of the Grotto. Speaking of the Grotto, that brings us to the first addition:

Beran-Setaou - The Level 97 Dragon

Beran-Setaou is the name of the level 97 dragon. Known about since 2007 in Asian servers, it is quite astonishing that it has taken until 2011 for it to be implemented on an English server. It can be found in the 3rd stage, or final area, of the Grotto of Exile.

Players must farm Twisted Keys from Setaou Generals in order to gain access to the dragon's lair. They will need 3 keys in order to enter the dragon's lair, and the first player to do so will be able to set their own password. They can then share this password with whoever they like to allow (or prevent) access to the lair. Other players joining via a password still need twisted keys to enter.  To do these things, players use the Sura Ghost NPC located outside the lair. Once a password is set, the dragon will spawn, and the lair is locked for 1 hour.

Epic (Blue/Green) Armors


As was theorized by many players, the epic armors are created from a level 66 armor at +9. Extra upgrade items are required, and not the Fencing Pamphlet required to craft epic weapons. New items are required, and these are Dragon Claws and Dragon Scales. As you may have guessed, these two items will drop from the level 97 Beran-Setaou dragon.

And now the part many people will be waiting for; a rundown of the stats for the armors, for each upgrade level:


Just like crafting epic weapons, these armors can be created at the same Seon-Pyeong NPC in the orc valley. The upgrade from level 66 armor at +9 to the epic armor has a 100% chance to succeed.

Epic Boots
Gameforge are also introducing new, unique epic boots. The 4 highest level sets of boots (levels 47, 51, 55 and 59) can be made into epic boots. Once this is done, the resuling +0 epic boot will be level 65. As it is upgraded, it will increase to level 75.


The epic boots don't receive an extra additional stat (such as % vs devil for epic weapons), but the normal stat of the boots (such as casting speed for Ecstasy Shoes) continues to increase throughout the upgrades of the epic version. +9 Euphoria Shoes, for example, have an incredible 20% Casting speed bonus.

New Helmets
The final addition is a set of two new helmets for each class. They will drop throughout the Grotto of Exile. Unfortunately we still don't know their complete stats, but here are their icons and levels.

AFAIK the publisher can make their own launcher if they like. US already has a custom launcher =o

What you see if you login to SG is the default one, though they changed the images.

Roph i mean patcher with updates...
US need to get new patcher with updates for Ymir(ofc they need to pay for that)... i dont see where's problem,when z8games pay for it .US will get it.

But well rumors says .US didnt had enough money to pay the license, so if this is true, they wont get updates ever.

As for GF, i am not sure but i think this company has shares on webzen wich is the company who bought ymir so its normal they recive updates. If the shares they have is over 50% we can say for sure that GF is Webzen, and lol its pretty much normal that they wont let any other server to be more updated then theirs

Webzen took YMIR at the end of January, and Gameforge has been working with the dragon and new armors since before christmas

Webzen has not even began to join with YMIR yet, they have finalized the takeover but have no integration yet. This is from emails with Webzen PR, I asked many questions but they said really its too soon to answer most of them as they dont have much to do with YMIR just yet

Gameforge has also been asking for and tweaking settings for these updates from before christmas, this is from contact in them. I dont find any data anywhere showing if Gameforge has got any shares of Webzen, do you have somewhere?

Webzen has not even began to join with YMIR yet, they have finalized the takeover but have no integration yet. This is from emails with Webzen PR, I asked many questions but they said really its too soon to answer most of them as they dont have much to do with YMIR just yet

And you just prooved my point. If GF have shares of Webzen its normal that ymir worked on the armors for them. Since they knew they would been bought over. As i said and as u even confirmed, this process is slow. The fact that ymir started to work on armors on DEC and that the news of webzen taking it over came on JEN dosnt mean that ymir and webzen made the deal on jenuary, they could have been made it on april afaik.

I dont find any data anywhere showing if Gameforge has got any shares of Webzen, do you have somewhere?

As i said i am not sure but many months ago i saw a post about GF taking over 60% of shares of Frogster and also some shares of this Webzen

US had epic weapons for almost 2 years before the multi million dollar Gameforge got them. SG still has no new mounts, or even wing chaser boots.

Once YMIR makes an update they don't just let all servers have it. They control when the publisher is allowed new stuff.

ye roph is obssessed with wing chaser boots. Considering that we can use 2 exp rings in pvm at same time, and we would use skill resist/skill attack in pvp, there wouldnt be space to use a +30 mov speed item, coz we have only 2 slots for special accessory

My point is not the fact that they are wind chaser boots, it is this:

chris was saying even back at the start of April (2010) that wing chaser boots were coming "in the next update":

And I just looked through Metin2 SG's item mall now and they are still not there. You might probably post something like "well they are insignificant, who cares about wing chaser boots", and this is my point. It's a tiny thing to add, it is already built into the game and item mall, so it is so easy to add. Incredibly easy to add. Yet almost a year later we're still waiting for them.

Point is saying that something will be there, when it isn't. I probably wouldnt use them either.

The same point for when stackable dropped return scrolls were coming "next week" in early 2010, but it still isn't done now in 2011 (or if it is then it's recent, I last played a few months ago)
